Volunteering at Pier 42 with the Lower East Side Ecology Center

CTA hosted a volunteering event with the Lower East Side Ecology Center at the recently completed Pier 42. Our group removed 368 lbs of weedy green waste and spread 3 cubic yards of mulch, helping keep the park healthy and welcoming.

This was our third event with the Ecology Center, and our first with three project managers joining in. It was great to see more of the team get involved, and we look forward to getting back out there with them soon!

We have logged 82 volunteering hours to date on our way to meet our goal of 200 hours for 2026. With something planned each month from now until the end of the year we are well on our way to making it happen.
