LAURA BLANCO MORENO

Laura joined CTA from Madrid, Spain. Raised on the island of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, she was inspired by the simple architecture that harmonizes with the island's rugged landscapes. In Madrid, she studied Interior Design at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. She chose her degree to focus on modifying existing spaces, and shifting details on a smaller scale.

Laura interned at CTA Architects in the summer of 2012 and returned as a full-time employee in early 2015.  Always passionate about working with existing buildings and spaces, Laura preferred working with historical buildings. She quickly demonstrated her ability to manage a variety of projects simultaneously and excelled at joining projects mid-way, effectively problem-solving with existing progress. She has successfully managed a range of façade projects at existing buildings, including 485 Central Park West, which involved ornamental terracotta replacement at the building corners and window lintels, sheet metal cornice restoration, and a full roof replacement. At Park 79 (117 West 79th Street), in collaboration with social services partner Project FIND, Laura played an important role in the exciting transformation that created 77 deeply affordable residences exclusively for seniors.

Laura is always positive and an excellent communicator with clients and coworkers, making her a pleasure to work with.
