OLD BROADWAY SYNAGOGUE

Type:

1928 brick and stone bearing wall building. The street facade had been extensively altered by the replacement of the entry doors and the closure of the central arched stained glass window with brick masonry. The base of the building has also been painted. The building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Scope:

Brick masonry restoration and rebuilding. Stone cleaning, repair and resetting. Localized roof repair at the main roof and replacement of the operable roof of the Sukkah structure. Paint removal, brick and stone cleaning. Fabrication of new stained glass windows based on surviving fragments and documentary evidence. Fabrication of new metal clad doors based on documentary evidence. Structural repairs to the sanctuary floor.
