INSTITUTIONAL DESIGN & ADAPTIVE REUSE
207 WEST 133RD STREET, NEW YORK, NY
1960's two-story brick and cast stone building with steel structure.
Conversion of existing 32,000 square foot church vestry into a new middle school space. The work included the reconfiguration of the interior into 13 classrooms, offices, a gymnasium and cafeteria and the construction of a new, monumental awning. The monumental awning was located on the sidewalk to service a new side entry and to minimize interior hallway lengths.
