EXTERIOR RESTORATION & FACADE REPLACEMENT

Type: 

ca. 1960 twenty-one-story residential concrete frame white-glazed brick curtain wall building with commercial medical facilities at the ground level. The building is located within the Upper East Side Historic District.

Scope: 

Complete removal and replacement of all exterior masonry including parapet walls and steel shelf-angles. The repair included the removal and replacement of building public and private roof systems and the installation of paved walking surfaces. As part of the parapet rebuilding a new railing system of a similar aesthetic appearance to the original building rail was installed at all terrace locations. Work included multiple presentations to the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission for replacement of the original glazed brick with new white clay-coated brick to match the original appearance.
