EXTERIOR RESTORATION

395 BROADWAY, NEW YORK, NY

 

395 Broadway, ca. 1901, is a steel frame commercial light manufacturing building converted to residences, is within the Tribeca East Historic District of Manhattan. The street facades on Broadway and Walker Streets are limestone with cast iron spandrels at the second floor and an ornate sheet metal cornice. The secondary elevations are brick.

This project included stone restoration and resetting, brick masonry restoration and rebuilding, re-roofing and bulkhead cladding. The restoration of the cornice included refabrication of applied formed zinc lions' heads, rosettes and modillion brackets. Included in the scope of work was the installation of a new public roof deck.
